SAM GROUP is pleased to announce that John Whitman has agreed to join its Board of Advisory as of May 2022.
John is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton MBA Health Care Management Program with a specialization in aging and long-term care. John has served for almost three decades as an adjunct professor at The Wharton School’s MBA Health and Management Program where he serves as the Program’s inhouse expert on senior care issues. John also serves on the Board of Directors for the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, the nation’s third largest Area Agency for Aging serving the poor elderly of Philadelphia County with a budget approaching $100 million a year.
John created a nationally respected consulting company that specialized in senior care services and provided strategic and operational support to hundreds of hospitals, health care systems, senior living communities, long term care facilities, adult day care programs, PACE programs and a wide range of for profit and not for profit organizations serving the elderly.
In 2004, John founded The TRECS Institute (“Targeting Revolutionary Elder Care Solutions”), a non-profit organization dedicated to serving as a catalyst to bring about positive changes in the care of our nation’s seniors. Through TRECS, John has been awarded numerous grants to help improve significant issues in senior care and develop recommendations for improvement, including issues like: the availability of dental care across America’s 15,000 skilled nursing facilities, effectively utilizing nurse practitioners to improve care for seniors and the quality of care and economic benefits of utilizing telemedicine in skilled nursing facilities.
“John brings both the subject matter knowledge of the challenges seniors face as they age, and the passion and commitment to improve their quality of life in the various clinical and senior living settings seniors find themselves on this journey,” said Lynn Lamprecht, President of SAM GROUP. “John will help us to identify and engage with technologies and services that will allow us to help our clients achieve these goals for extending independence and quality of life for seniors”.
“SAM GROUP is working on some exciting tech-enabled solutions to help address some of the top challenges facing America’s seniors, and I am looking forward to collaboration with them on these initiatives,” said Mr. Whitman.
